Chinese refers to a large group of dialects。

中文裡有很多方言。

Most kinds of Chinese speakers face a common issue when pronouncing English words： having difficulty with the/n/sound at the end of words。

大多數說中文的人在讀英語單詞時都面臨著一個共同的問題：讀單詞詞尾的 /n/ 音有困難。

/n/is among the group of sounds called “nasals”。

/n/ 屬於“鼻音”。

These sounds are made by creating a blockage in the mouth and letting air escape from the nose。

這些音透過在嘴巴中形成阻隔並且讓空氣從鼻子中逃出。

Word-final nasal sounds tend to be shorter in Chinese than they are in English。

中文裡詞尾的鼻音往往會比英語中的短。

The result is that Chinese speakers do not say the nasal sound long enough。

結果就是說中文的人的鼻音發的不夠長。

One solution is to practice linking the final/n/sound of a word with the vowel sound of the next word。

一個解決方法就是練習把單詞最後的 /n/ 跟下個單詞中的母音連線。

Now， if the first sound in the following word does not have a vowel sound， your job will be a bit more difficult。

You will have to pay more attention to the final/n/sound。
