古代貨幣。西漢晚期，王莽篡位，建立新朝，先後對貨幣制度進行4次改革，雖然都以失敗告終，卻留下了一批製作精良的錢幣。當時鑄行的銅質錢幣21種，有六泉、十布、二刀以及貨布、貨泉、布泉。“大泉五十”鑄行時間雖然僅有13年，但其卻是王莽新朝通行貨幣中流通時間最長、鑄量最大的貨幣。“大泉五十”看似型制單一，但其版別多，內涵豐富，近年不斷有新品種面世，尤其是背有紋飾、吉語及動物圖案的版別發現極多。

重輪錢始於王莽時期。重輪版式的“大泉五十”除有雙層輪廓特點外，文字也很有特點：其“大”字如同飛翔的家燕，似如燕頭的頂端由雙線構成，下伸波折如同飛翔中的雙翅，撇捺如同燕尾；“泉”字頂端呈波浪狀（非重輪品一般較平）形如“山”字。衝壓刻劃輪廓的假重輪錢，文字無此特點。

這枚錢幣包漿自然，通體貼骨綠繡，呈明顯金屬顆粒感，所謂包漿是自然形成的氧化層，也有人為手盤包漿，兩者不同，但同時都有保護錢幣的功能，有如給錢幣鍍上一層保護膜，

大泉五千傳世極少，早期評為中國古錢“五十名珍”之一，至今亦鮮有發現，2011年嘉德秋拍出品一枚，估價200～350萬元。

This coin has a natural envelop, which is close to the bone and embroidered on the whole body, and has a distinct metallic grain. The so-called entrapment is a naturally formed oxide layer, and some people have entrapped the hand plate.
