山既可以是大山，高山，也可以是小山，就是低矮的山。

山 can be both high mountain and low mountain。

大山=big/huge mountains，小山=low/small mountains。

丘就一定是小山，一定不是高山大山了。有時候甚至是個小土坡的感覺。

We Chinese say 山丘 together to indicate it is not flat lands。

You can see 沙丘 in beach or desert。 沙丘 is formed with sands。

Once you get to Japan， you can see 嶽s too。

It means the same， high mountains in Japanese。
