1. already

已經

Already被用來表明早些時候發生了什麼事。它用於句子的中間位置，通常與現在完成時連用。

在美式英語中，也可以用一般過去時。

英式英語：

I have already done my homework。/He has already washed the car。

我已經做完作業了。/他已經洗車了。

美式英語：

I already did my homework。/He already washed the car。

我已經做完作業了。/他已經洗車了。

2. still

仍然

Still用於表示連續動作，並用於肯定句。Still用在句子的中間位置。通常與現在進行時連用。

Still在句子中：

I am still doing my homework。 /He is still washing his car。

我還在做作業。/他還在洗車。

Still需要使用進行時。除了be，have和基本感官動詞。或者當你想表明一種習慣性的情況（習慣）。

例：I still have the book that you gave me。/I am still a strong guy。/I can still hear him。/I still see her outside。

我還有你給我的那本書。/我仍然是個強壯的人。/我仍然能聽到他。/我仍然看到她在外面。

注意：在否定句中很少使用still。它通常被“not…anymore”或“no longer”取代

例：I no longer have the book that you gave me。/I am not a strong guy anymore。

我不再有你給我的那本書了。/我不再是一個強壯的人了。

3. yet

仍然

其他說法：Yet這個詞是用來談論預期會發生的事情，但直到現在才發生。Yet意思是到現在為止的任何時候。Yet用於疑問句和否定句，通常與現在完成時一起使用。Yet在句子的結尾使用。

Yet在句子中：

Have you finished your homework yet？ – Interrogative/I haven’t washed my car yet。 – Negative

你做完作業了嗎？–疑問/我還沒洗車。–否定

Yet在肯定句中很少使用，但當它被使用時，它意味著否定。

例：I have yet to read the ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’ book= I have not read the ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’ book yet， but I will probably read it soon。

我還沒有讀過《哈利波特與火焰杯》這本書，但我可能很快就會讀到。

4. just

僅僅

當我們想說不久前（最近）發生了什麼事情時，就使用Just。

它總是和現在完成或過去完成一起使用。它在輔助動詞（有或有）和過去分詞之間使用。只適用於肯定句和疑問句。

Just在句子中：

I’ve just called my grandmother。 （Present Perfect）/Have you just called your grandmother？ （Present Perfect）/We had just finished dinner。 （Past Perfect）

我剛給我奶奶打過電話。你剛給你奶奶打過電話嗎？我們剛剛吃完飯。（過去完成）

注意：在美式英語中，只可以用簡單過去時。

例：I just saw him outside。/I just called my grandmother。

我剛看見他在外面。/我剛打電話給我奶奶。
